Particle physicist and TV presenter Professor Brian Cox OBE will be a guest of honour at the annual open air sitting of Tynwald at St John's next month.
He will also give a presentation and answer questions from students at the Villa Marina, and share the stage with the crew of NASA's space shuttle Discovery.
Professor Cox is best known from BBC TV shows such as Wonders of the Universe, Wonders of the Solar System and Space Hoppers.
The Department of Education and Children says students from Years 11 and 13 can apply for places at the presentation by calling 693830.
