Transforming respite unit taking priority over Ramsey facility
Progress on plans to replace Cummal Mooar has slowed, with focus shifted instead to a project that will transform the current 'outdated' respite unit for adults with learning disabilities.
Former Health Minister Lawrie Hooper claims Manx Care is spending £1 million annually on the Ramsey site, which could be saved if the Cummal Mooar capital scheme had progressed.
Health and Social Care Minister Claire Christian aims to bring a funding proposal to Tynwald by late 2025.
The confirmed her department's current priority is progressing work on Radcliffe Villas.
Last March, Mr Hooper - during his time as health minister - confirmed plans to replace Cummal Mooar were 'on track'
