Work needed to determine whether responsibility transfers to individual departments or Cabinet Office
There are pros and cons to having policy work carried out by officers in individual departments rather than one central unit.
That's from Home Affairs Minister Jane Poole-Wilson after Tynwald recently approved changes to the Attorney General's Chambers, including removing its responsibility for policy development.
An assessment will now be needed to determine whether those responsible for this work should sit in each department or be overseen by the Cabinet Office.
Minister Poole-Wilson says it could be beneficial to have policy development overseen by one group, but it could also hinder progress:
