Protecting farmers from impact of climate change 'a no brainer'

DEFA minister says recent conditions aren't favourable for Manx crops

The minister responsible for the Island's farming sector says anything that can be done to protect the industry from climate change is a 'no brainer'.

Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Clare Barber warns the recent hot and dry conditions will not have suited crops grown by Manx farmers.

Instead, she says a balanced climate is needed to support the produce farmed locally.

The minister is keen to see action to protect the sector from the impact of warmer conditions:
