Unclear when the event is likely to be rescheduled to though
It's understood a peaceful protest which was planned to take place in Douglas this afternoon has been postponed due to weather conditions.
It comes on the same day members of the maritime trade union Nautilus are expected to begin taking industrial action short of strike.
The dispute between the union and the Steam Packet company continues with the most recent escalation seeing notices of termination sent out to those who'd refused to sign the new contracts.
Nautilus describes it as an active 'fire and rehire' process.
It's since prompted various political figures to hit out at the SPC's decision.
Rushen MHK Michelle Haywood believes "whoever signed off on sending that [termination notice] three days before Christmas should hang their heads in shame."
Manx Radio is led to believe some politicians alongside Steam Packet staff were due to be in attendance of the protest outside the Sea Terminal.
