Ramsey has staged a party with a naval theme.
The historic honour Freedom of Entry has been bestowed on the Royal Navy which shares its name with the town - HMS Ramsey.
Crowds of local people enjoyed the spectacle in warm sunshine - which included a parade to Parliament Square by the Royal Navy Guard and Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band.
An illuminated Freedom of Entry scroll was presented by the chairman of Ramsey Commsisioners to the ship's commanding officer - cementing the long-standing friendship between town, the ship and its crew.
