Laurence Vaughan-Williams to contest for seat in Rushen
A Port St Mary commissioner has announced his intention to stand for Rushen in September's General Election.
Laurence Vaughan-Williams, who's an advocate, has served on the local authority since 2017.
He says he's been driven to stand by the fact that many people on the Island feel their voices are no longer being properly heard.
In a statement, Mr Vaughan-Williams says: "I will listen and will stand on a non-nanny-state agenda. The Government should serve the people, not the people serve the Government."
Also standing in Rushen is Simon Williams.
The General Election is taking place on Thursday 24 September.
