Government keen to modernise data storage
The public is asked to submit its views on new legislation permitting ongoing modernisation of the way data is kept by government on Island.
It follows the move of a number of Central Registries various functions under one roof.
The Companies Registry has joined Land Registry, Deeds and Probate Registry, Charities Registry and Civil Registry in the Registries Building on Deemsters Walk.
The Public Records Office is the only function to remain at St George's Court.
The Central Registry Bill 2017 is now available for public consultation online at gov.im; aimed at hearing ideas from the public on how it's progressing.
