Controversial plans to change government workers' pensions have moved a step forward.
The Manx Government has announced a three month consultation on recommendations to unify the 15 different existing schemes, in a new, final salaried package.
There could be tax increases and service cuts in a bid to tackle the rising cost of public sector pensions.
Public sector workers, in particular those in the health service, have warned they are opposed to any loss of benefit or increased contributions.
The proposed scheme wouldn't apply to the police, teachers and judiciary whose pay is determined outside the Island.
