Mayor calls requisition meet following petition from residents
Residents in Douglas will have the chance to air their views on fortnightly domestic waste collection.
A requisition meeting has been called by the mayor following a petition from more than 12 electors.
The leader of Douglas Council, and the chair of the Environmental Services Committee, will be asked to explain the changes made to the refuse service and the impact it’s having on the community.
They’ll also have to take questions from those who attend.

The meeting will take place at The Legion Hall on North Quay on Monday, 12 December at 6pm and will be chaired by the Captain of Lonan Parish Stephen Carter.
North Douglas MHK David Ashford, who has been critical of the change to waste collection, has urged his constituents to attend saying: “Whether for or against please come along and make your views known.
“This is the opportunity for the council to hear firsthand what the public thinks of the new regime.”
