Two hundred Peel residents have demanded more choice over where a sewage treatment plant for the west of the Island is situated.
The Government's preferred site, 400 metres upriver from the power station, was opposed by a meeting at the Corrin Hall last night.
The meeting was addressed by the Transport Minister David Anderson, local commissioners and experts in the processing of waste.
During the evening, the town's MHK Tim Crookall was asked for his view on the present proposal:
