All welcome at Andreas Community Hall this evening
People are being offered the opportunity to discuss plans for a new renewable energy project on the Isle of Man.
Working with the landowners of Andreas Airfield, IPV Flexgen is evaluating the potential for a renewable energy generation hub.
The team behind the proposals say it could generate up to 25% of the Island's required electricity.
A meeting is to be held in Andreas this evening to discuss the project, which would 'incorporate a mix of renewable energy technologies to provide greater levels of daily power availability and grid stability'.
The technologies under consideration are:
- Anaerobic Digestion (AD)
- Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaics (Solar PV)
- On shore Wind Technology
- Battery Storage
IPV Flexgen says it has carried out a series of planning evaluations and believes that Andreas Airfield 'is an ideal site for both energy and commercial development', and they want to 'open a dialogue with the local community' to see if their ideas are something that would be welcomed.
Residents are invited to a meeting at Andreas Community Hall tonight (Wednesday 29 November), starting at 7:30pm.
