Government taking on more staff
The Island's public sector is growing.
Government's overall workforce expanded by 1.14% between June 2016 and June 2017, to 8,328 people.
That figure covers the length and breadth of public services, including full and part-time employees.
But it does not include workers on zero hour contracts, such as specialist sports coaches and caterers.
