The Department of Home Affairs has issued a code of practice to promote positive race relations.
It's aimed at helping those who provide services on behalf of the Manx government and local authorities in the Isle of Man to the meet the requirements of the 2004 Race Relations Act.
A draft copy of the code went out to public consultation earlier this year, and it was laid before Tynwald in October.
Minister for Home Affairs Adrian Earnshaw says while some public sector employees are already working very hard in this area, the code is designed to help people such as civil servants, and staff in the emergency services, the Manx Electricity Authority and the Water and Sewerage Authority
It sets out what is expected of them in terms of race relations, as they carry out their duties and in the services they provide.
