
Some details about the public sector means testing system, set to be introduced next year, were revealed in Tynwald today.
Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw, facing a question from North Douglas MHK Bill Henderson about rents, told the court there’d be four areas - those on benefits, on low incomes, a general rate and people on high incomes.
That might mean some public sector tenants pay rents close to private rents if they can afford it.
