A Douglas Councillor says a 5% rent rise for public sector housing is a "sensible compromise"
Chairman of the Housing and Property Advisory committee, David Ashford says that's the figure the Douglas Council itself had suggested to the Department of Health and Social Care.
Mr Ashford says he's aware that were suggestions for considerably higher rise or indeed no increase at all, so he believes the figure is about right.
