HM Sole disappointed latest bid fallen through
An architectural researcher is calling on the public to band together to stop an iconic building falling into further disrepair.
HM The Sole, born Ian James Clanton, has spent four years studying the former Castle Mona Hotel on Loch Promenade.
He led a £1.8 million bid to purchase the site in 2016, which was unsuccessful due to timing constraints.
Sole says he was dismayed, but not surprised, to see the latest bid fall through and the property re-listed for just £750,000 at an auction next month.
He says the Castle Mona is 'not a commercial opportunity', but a heritage issue.
