
A pupil from St Ninians school, not long into her teens, gave Douglas Rotary Club an example of the quality of public speaking that is possible if you have the talent.
Lena Devoma, along with two of her fellow pupils were winners in the annual Rotary competition to find young speakers with a real touch of class. The efforts of the three earned their school £500 which will go towards a video camera (to help others practice their public speaking) and audio equipment.
Speaking WITHOUT NOTES and in front of yesterdays Rotary luncheon at the Hilton Hotel, this was part of her prize winning performance:
