Captain McKenzie appointed as president of trust
The Manx community is still very supportive of a project to restore the historic pier in Ramsey.
That’s the view of the current project manager who says an expected downturn in support hasn’t materialised.
The Queen’s Pier Restoration Trust has now appointed its first president – Captain Stuart McKenzie who has been involved since its inception in 2016.
Captain McKenzie was the first project manager and responsible for the completion of Phase 1 of the project, involving the first three bays of the pier.
Graham Curphey, a Trustee and Joint Treasurer of the project, says, since Covid, costs have become an ‘ongoing battle’.
