The head of the Island’s civil defence volunteers says people should heed warnings from the emergency services over hazards.
His comments follow a weekend of snow and ice which caused disruption across much of the Island.
Martin Blackburn says volunteers helped government staff reach people in difficulties in remote spots, as well as motorists who hit trouble on the roads.
However, he believes some people could have paid more attention to warnings from the police not to venture out:
