Firefighters urging responsible behaviour
Manx firefighters are urging residents to do their bit in protecting against wildfires during the current hot weather.
IoM Fire and Rescue says with the current warm conditions expected to continue this week, the risk of wildfires increases.
The Department of Environment, Food & Agriculture has put up signs on their estates asking for no smoking, no camp fires, no camp stoves and no barbecues.
The fire service says the high temperatures combined with low moisture in soil and vegetation right now means fires can take hold and spread rapidly.
It adds this can result in properties, land and wildlife being devastated.
As a result, firefighters are urging people to act safely and responsibly when out and about.
