Charity to launch Christmas ad 40 years on from original slogan
A leading animal charity is urging the Manx public to avoid buying dogs as presents this Christmas.
The Dogs Trust has found that online searches for dogs and puppies skyrocket on the countdown to the festive season, while the number of people wanting to give up their canine companions peaks in January.
The charity first came up with the 'dog for life not just for Christmas' slogan 40 years ago.
This weekend, it's launching its first ever Christmas TV advert to raise awareness of the issue.
CEO Owen Sharp says while animals should never be bought as surprises, there's no need to avoid buying something dog related.
