A Rushen MHK is backing the idea of webcasting Tynwald and other legislative sittings, but says its value should be assessed against its cost.
Quintin Gill was speaking about an idea from the Positive Action Group, which would allow people to watch legislative debates on-line, and access archived audio-visual recordings.
Forty parliaments and councils in the British Isles already use the technology, which would cost about £40,000 a year.

The Positive Action Group's proposal has been submitted to the Tynwald Management Committee for consideration.
