Over 29 percent of the total allowable catch has been brought ashore
Nearly seven weeks into the 2025 Queen Scallop season landings are strong and the shellfish of high quality.
The current quota provides for each boat fishing for Queenies to land up to 11 tonnes per week.
To date over 29 percent of the total allowable catch has been brought ashore.
A feature of the current season is the reduced number of boats fishing.
Dr David Beard from the Manx fish Producers' Association says it's because some of the larger vessels in the Manx fleet have remained in Scottish waters fishing for King Scallops:
