Work to start after British National Road Championships
Infrastructure workers may need to work six days a week to ensure the first phase of a major road scheme is completed in time.
The project to reconstruct the highway and install new water and drainage systems centres on the Lezayre Road in Ramsey, but has been delayed by a fortnight due to a cycling event.
Economic Development chiefs had apparently failed to make the Department of Infrastructure aware.
With the Island hosting the British National Road Championships at the end of June, work will now start slightly later than expected.
The project coordinator for the DoI, Jim Davidson, says the first tranche of work must be completed by mid-August:
