Senior meteorologist discusses wetter than average November and December
The senior meteorologist at Ronaldsway Met Office says the Island's geography makes forecasting rain events difficult.
November this year was the fourth wettest on record, with 176mm recorded; the average for the month is 105.
This month, more rain fell in the first week of the month than would typically be expected for all of December.
The conditions caused issues such as surface flooding and rising river levels, but Kirsty Wilding says it's tricky to pinpoint where the rain will impact the most:
Island's finances 'in a better position than most other jurisdictions'
Completion of assisted dying bill 'the most significant moment of 2025'
Keep dogs away from Garwick Beach for next few days
Cost of sending a letter on the Island to increase in January
New male red panda coming to the Curraghs Wildlife Park
