More names not on electoral lists
A week after a Douglas councillor and former deputy mayor was forced to relinquish his position, two long-standing Ramsey commissioners have had to do the same.
It’s after it emerged neither Geoff Quayle nor Wilf Young are on the voters list.
Changes earlier this year meant people had to register to be on the list rather than their name be automatically retained.
It meant there were around 2,000 fewer voters registered in time for May’s House of Keys by-elections.
Ramsey town clerk Peter Whiteway says it’s unfortunate but the law had to be followed:

Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
Charges now in place for those sending parcels to the EU
