Only minimal impact on rates says Chairman
Ramsey Commissioners have voted unanimously to adopt the living wage.
The resolution will ensure all their staff will be paid at a rate at least equal to the living wage - and a fair salary for the work they do for the town.
Chairman of the Commissioners Andy Cowie says the vast majority of their staff already fell into this bracket but around 14% of them were below the figure.
Speaking on Mandate this morning, Mr Cowie says the move will only have a minimal impact on rates
