Number of services to be relocated to Noble's - albeit temporarily - to allow for pest control works

The minor injuries unit (MIU) at Ramsey & District Cottage Hospital is to close temporarily from 8pm tonight (9 December).

It follows an announcement last week that a number of services at the northern facility will be temporarily relocated from next Monday (15 December) to allow for ongoing remedial work there following a pest control issue.

Meanwhile, minor injuries unit services, including X-rays, will be relocated to Noble's Hospital from tomorrow, 10 December.

Manx Care has confirmed St John's Ambulance will run a dedicated shuttle bus between Ramsey MIU and Noble's Emergency Department from 8am, with the last bus departing from Noble's at 6.30pm.

The service will run exclusively between Ramsey MIU and Noble's ED and for transport support, people are advised to call the MCALS service on 642 642 or email mcals@gov.im

Manx Care also adds that Noble's minor injuries unit will have a separate waiting area and reception to Noble's Emergency Department.

The organisation also says patients with upcoming appointments will be contacted directly by phone, email, or letter with new arrangements.

If you don't hear from them, please attend your appointment as originally scheduled or contact them for clarification, also on 642 642.

A list of what ailments can and can't be seen by the MIU is available HERE.

When it comes to needing information and signposting for services, people are asked to contact their GP or use MEDS (Manx Emergency Doctor Service).

For plaster room issues (casts/splints), contact 650 381 (Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm).
