
Ramsey residents opposed to plans to shut the town’s main post office in Parliament Street have launched an online campaign to save it.
A Facebook page had attracted hundreds of 'likes' within hours of being set up, and an e-petition has also been launched.
A public meeting has been arranged for Wednesday night, too.
Post Office Chairman Graham Cregeen MHK earlier today announced Ramsey's one and the main post office in Regent Street in Douglas would close next year with the loss of 19 jobs.
He said they have lost £500,000 over the last twelve months.Post Offices in Regent Street in Douglas and Parliament Street in Ramsey will be replaced by sub post offices which will be opened in Spar shops in the respective main streets.
