Alarm raised by Belfast Coastguard yesterday

People have been urged to check tide times after Ramsey RNLI was called to rescue someone who got cut off yesterday.

The alarm was raised by Belfast Coastguard just after 10.30am (21 July).

Volunteer lifeboat crew arrived at Port Lewaigue at 11am and launched an inflatable boat to recover the casualty from the rocks.

Coxswain Mark Kenyon said: “We would strongly advise people to always check tide times and heights and to keep a look-out for incoming tides.

“Always carry a means of calling for help and if you see someone in danger, call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
