Popular event sees line up of all types of bikes
A fun day out for all who love speed and a party atmosphere is in store in Ramsey today (31 Aug).
The popular Ramsey Sprint's being staged on the Promenade, offering a chance for hobbyists and non-professional bikers to ride full-throttle along the 1/8th mile strip.
Thousands are expected at the event - organised by Straightliners under Auto Cycle Union regulations - all day between 10am and 5pm.
There are classes for all types of bikes, from 50cc up to 'fire breathing' drag bikes, with top riders on the fastest street bikes reaching speeds of over 130 miles per hour!
Trevor Duckworth from Straightliners says the retro theme of the Classic TT will be reflected at the start line:
The Sprint's open to all-comers, but you must have an ACU approved helmet and full leathers.
If you don't have a licence, you can obtain a day licence at the event.
