Witnesses saw car swerving across road
A Ramsey woman’s been bailed after admitting drink-driving.
Vicky Gaines of Auldyn Meadow Drive appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
She pleaded guilty to one count of drink-driving on Lezayre Road on 1 July.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing members of the public rang police at around 3:30pm to report Gaines.
Witnesses described her VW Golf swerving across the road and mounting a kerb.
Police went to her home, and she told officers she’d just arrived there after driving home.
She failed a roadside breath test, and at police headquarters she turned out to be almost three times the legal alcohol limit.
Magistrates asked for probation service reports to be compiled before Gaines is sentenced.
They granted bail in the sum of £500 and she’ll appear again on 22 October.
