Staff of Government Appeal Division hearing this week

Two men who were jailed for rape are appealing their conviction and sentence.

James Marcus Doherty and Graham Skillicorn were found guilty, for a second time, following a retrial earlier this year.

Doherty was jailed for 16 years and Skillicorn for 11; they were both placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for an indefinite period.

A half-day directions hearing has been listed for tomorrow (28 October) in front of Judge of Appeal Cross KC.

It will start at 10am.

A third man - Steven Cannon - was also found guilty of the attack in the early hours of 25 June 2022.

He received 13 years in prison.
