Commissioners in Ramsey open to helping QPRT
Commissioners in Ramsey would consider using ratepayers' money to help fund a restoration project in the town.
The Queen's Pier Restoration Trust aims to redevelop the iconic Victorian tourist attraction but are struggling to raise the funds required.
There have been talks between the group and the local authority about the plans - but no cash has been offered.
Commissioners' Chairman Andy Cowie says they would examine ways to help if the Trust was desperate:

Some pubs to stay open for early-hours England match
Tynwald to revisit rates bill after the election
Douglas Council to install temporary play area in Marine Gardens
First risk assessment on proliferation financing published
