Residential home affected by Covid-19 outbreak
The temporary closure of the Reayrt-ny-Baie care home in Douglas has been extended.
The residential home was due to reopen this Friday (20 August) however Manx Care has confirmed it will now remain closed for another seven days until the 27 August.
It means visitors and new admissions won't be allowed at this time.
Visits will, however, be allowed on compassionate grounds and this will be managed on a case-by-case basis.
The residential home on Albert Terrace was affected by an outbreak of Covid-19 last month.
Manx Care's Head of Adult Social Care Operations, Jonathan Carey, says the decision to extend the closure has been made to protect residents and staff, and it's hoped restrictions can be lifted next week.
