Enterprise to take off in November
Re-branding the Department of Economic Development will give it a chance to -refocus on policy and strategy, rather than on 'day-to-day' management - so says DED Minister Laurence Skelly.
Yesterday (20 Wed) he told a policy review committee the planned transformation into the Department of Enterprise won't take place until November - provided Tynwald approves the change.
The new department will no longer be responsible for the VillaGaeity complex and the Job Centre, and will divide its other functions into 4 agencies, buisness, visit, digital, and finance.
Mr Skelly says this 'agency model' will allow more focus to be given on strategic issues:
