Trial to be carried out by Ramsey
Chief Minister Allan Bell has announced a pilot scheme to enable the six Local Regeneration Committees to take on a wider remit.
Government says the move is in recognition of the success of the schemes in the Isle of Man’s towns and villages.
The Ramsey Regeneration Committee has agreed unanimously to undertake a short trial to see how the wider remit would work.
The new remit could include compiling more local economic information, and looking at schemes to bring vacant buildings back to life by prioritising projects.
Mr Bell says it's time to build on what has already been achieved:
Planning application for onshore wind farm still being developed
Motorcyclist suffered fatal chest injuries in crash
Trial for trio accused of producing Class A drugs to Island
