Debate is continuing over plans to create a database containing details of every child in the Isle of Man, as part of a new government strategy to safeguard youngsters.
A database on the Island's 18,000 youngsters is required by the Children Bill, so professionals could track their progress, and ensure any problems were dealt with at an early stage.
The pros and cons of creating such a resource were examined at a Positive Action Group meeting in Douglas last night (Monday).
Critics claim potentially minor problems could be flagged-up against a child's name, and the Island's Data Protection Supervisor Iain McDonald has concerns over who would see sensitive data:
