Creatures won't survive unfamiliar environments
Releasing exotic pets into the wild has a negative impact on both the animal and the environment.
The Manx Wildlife Trust is reinforcing its recent message about the issue, following a spate of terrapins and turtles being put in rivers, lakes and ponds.
It's in addition to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture warning that abandoning pets is illegal.
Dawn Dickens, the biodiversity education officer at the MWT, says people must not do it.
