43-year-old appears in court charged with sexual offences
A Douglas man has been remanded at the Isle of Man Prison after being accused of rape.
The 43-year-old can’t be named due to new anonymity laws brought in this year by Tynwald.
He’s been charged with two offences of rape and one of assault by penetration; they were allegedly committed over a three-day period between 27 and 30 July.
Committal proceedings, where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery, will take place on 8 October; there was no application for bail.
Update: At Douglas Courthouse on 8 October committal proceedings were completed. He will next appear before the Court of General Gaol Delivery on a date to be set.
