Police say risk to riders is 'extremely high' without legislation
Police have issued a reminder for people not to ride electric scooters on a road or in a public space on the Island after a rider was involved in a recent serious injury road traffic collision.
The Isle of Man Constabulary says without legislation in place to ensure the vehicles are used correctly, with the correct safety features, and by those of an appropriate age, the risk of serious injury posed to the public and riders is 'extremely high'.
It says it's shared the details of the recent collision to prevent any future incidents occurring.
