Onchan Chairman says hands are tied
The Chairman of Onchan Commissioners says under no circumstances can the board go against the instructions of Infrastructure bosses, and freeze social housing rents.
In November, Anthony Allen advocated a 0% increase, saying anything more could have a disastrous impact for tenants.
The DoI chose instead to push a 3.1% increase, which some have suggested Onchan should ignore.
But Mr Allen told Manx Radio his hands are tied.
