Beamans proposes changes to the department
The structure of the Department of Infrastructure has been singled out as a 'significant weakness' in the way it's run.
An independent report into the DoI's capability and capacity has been published today (14 June).
It comes off the back of a number of high profile projects which have been delayed or gone over budget.
Management consultants Beamans says the structure of the department doesn't help it plan and develop services effectively.
It's proposing to divide Infrastructure's focus into two halves; one focused on operating key services and the other on strategy and management.
