British newspaper says design would connect Great Britain to Northern Ireland
It's claimed the UK Prime Minister wants to build a roundabout beneath the Isle of Man where three tunnels would connect Great Britain to Northern Ireland.
A report in The Sunday Times says Boris Johnson is interested in a design which would see tunnels from Liverpool, Heysham and Stranraer meeting in a junction under the Island, connecting to another tunnel heading to Northern Ireland.
It was one of a number of ideas put forward to improve transport links between Britain and Northern Ireland.
The publication cites Whitehall sources, which claim the Irish Sea tunnel project is one the British leader is particularly keen to pursue, despite the logistical challenges.
