Meeting shines spotlight on proposals
Island residents have pushed concerns over long-term development on green field sites up the political agenda.
An audience of around 70 members of the public, MHKs and local authority members debated planning policy at a Positive Action Group meeting at the Manx Legion Club last night (27 March).
On the agenda was the controversial area plan for the east, which has earmarked more than 200 sites for potential housing and business development.
The government's Head of Planning Policy Diane Brown assured the meeting nothing had been decided yet, and confirmed residents have an extra month to submit comments to a public consultation.
The new deadline for submissions is Friday 26 May.
These residents told us key issues are now out in the open:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
Venezuela Fury & Noah Price wedding "a true showcase of the breadth and quality of Manx services"
