Hoped joint venture will encourage them to go outside
A sheltered housing complex in Douglas has a new garden courtesy of some community spirit.
Ballanard Court's new outdoor space was a joint effort between the council, Tower Insurance and students from UCM.
Benches, bought from Crossroads Workshop, were installed, flowers were planted and the UCM students made bird and bat boxes.
It's hoped the work will encourage the residents to use the garden and enjoy nature.
Residents in the home have planted apple trees, and bulbs, and were given a raised planter for those with mobility restrictions to be able to join in.
