Follows contamination of commercial cardboard bin
Residents are being urged to be ‘mindful’ about what they put in recycling bins.
Douglas City Council says it’s recently found a number of items in a commercial cardboard bin which shouldn’t be there.
They include clothing, shoes and a ceramic mug.
The council says when materials are mixed up it can cause whole truckloads to be rejected, when they are sent for reprocessing, which costs money and disrupts the ‘entire recycling process’.
