44-year-old accepts causing 'reckless' damage
A Sulby man has been fined £700 – and handed a restraining order - after smashing his ex-partner’s window.
Shaun Robinson, of Main Road, became distressed after seeing another man in the woman’s property when he turned up at her home.
The 44-year-old admitted causing criminal damage in Jurby on 14 October.
During sentencing at Douglas Courthouse a probation officer told the court Robinson never intended to cause damage saying: "He accepts he made a very big mistake."
"He’s moved on and he deeply regrets his actions," she added.
Robinson, who represented himself in court, told the high bailiff: "It was totally reckless – it was my mistake."
He was also ordered to pay £125 in prosecution costs, and almost £200 in compensation, and has been banned from contacting the woman until further notice.
