Costcutter and Ballachrink Stores appointed ahead of branch's closure

It follows the announcement that the Kirk Onchan branch will be closing next month; Postmaster Hassan Patel described it is as ‘no longer a viable business’.

Instead postal services will be introduced at Birchhill Costcutter and Ballachrink Stores.

Services at Costcutter will start next Tuesday (4 August), initially between 9am-5pm, before being extended to the store's full opening hours, seven days a week.

Services at Ballachrink Stores will follow from 1 September.

These will also be available between 9am and 5pm initially, with plans to extend them to the store's full opening hours, seven days a week, in due course.

The Isle of Man Post Office said: "By appointing two new retail hosts in Onchan customers will benefit from greater choice and access to postal services through locations offering extended opening hours."
